Polo Store

So I decided to take a trip to the Polo store in Buenos Aires thinking I'm about to cop some exclusive Polo  gear and bring it back to the states and be the only one wearing it. First for me to get to the store I had to walk for like 30 mins I could have took a taxi but walking is free... So I get there and the store is expensive to the max the cheapest thing I found was like 200$ US dollars so I'm like I can wait to get back to the states. Their selection was nice. I saw the whole polo sport uniform which was impressive. They had a variety of Polo shirts and sweaters. In the end I walked out and thought I would wait to I get back to the states to add to my collection..

First Day In Lima Peru

The first day in Peru was fun and different. I stayed up the night before so I was tired coming in. When we first got here one of the first things I noticed was the heat difference like when we first got to BsAs it was hot then it began cooling off. Second thing was the people here speak more clearer and slower. So it was easier for me to understand them. Met my host family they seem to be more family oriented. Came home made us a meal  got a room mate in fact two of them but they're cool. I kinda like the family more because I've been use to being on my own for a while and I miss having family dinners and things like that. After that slept in a better bed than the one in buenos aires which was small and i couldn't even roll over. This bed is a full size only one mattress no box spring but hey at least its bigger. So far so good I really want to work on my speaking I felt like my first couple weeks in Buenos Aires I did but after that I was interested in doing other things so my goal is to stay more focus here but still have fun..

Last Week In Buenos Aires Argentina

Toughest week since I got here. Learned the sad news my grandmother died.  First emotions is always I can't believe she is dead. I'm thinking there is nothing I can do I'm thousands of miles away don't know what to say or do. Started to think about all of the times. I use to go over to her house just to talk to her we had soo many good times. I used to live with her for a while. I remember when I locked the door in the bathroom so no one could get in also did that to the bedroom still don't know why I did that I guess I was bored. Out of all my grandparents she was the one I was closest to. Had to drive her home one day because she was drunk lol. Still gave me money on all of my bdays and other occasions even when I was grown.
The last week went by fast. Hung out with a few friends for the last time there it was nice but I miss them. Leaving buenos aires was mixed feelings. It was bitter sweet happy I'm going to a different country but I'm going to miss the friends i met. The week before I was introduced to some of the best sandwiches I ever tasted. It was called Sacramento de pollo de tomate y queso which is chicken,tomato, and cheese and the other one was Sacramento jamon y queso which is ham and cheese. The sandwiches is so delicious. To give you an idea the bread is sweet like a danish or crossiant only way to describe but even that really does it no justice. Class was cool only had to write two papers for the whole semesters and ended up with an A grade so that was good. Last day was crazy had a lot to do and didn't get to hang out with my dudes but we tried still went out and had an okay. Looking back on my time there I spent a lil too much money than I liked but I did a lot and I enjoyed myself so it was worth it. I tried to take in every moment. It's not that often that blacks can go out the country let alone travel in the states. I made a promise to myself to see more of the world so I'm planning on doing more traveling. Most of us rather spend our money on material things or things that really don't matter. The world is bigger than Cleveland and you owe it to yourself to see it.  The relationships I built I really think we can stay in contact and hopefully meet up in the states. I enjoyed my time in Buenos Aires looking forward to the next chapter in my life.

Third Week March in BsAs

The third week in Buenos Aires went by fast. We spent most of the classes going to museums and watching videos. I learned a lot about the Argentina country history. Some how I got bronchitis and let me tell you that was some of the most pain I've ever been in. Went to the doctors which I wasn't happy they make you pay for everything before you go. The only good part is I get most of my money back when I get back to the states and mail the paper work. I started back working out and was told to avoid exercising for a week. After the bronchitis went away I had stomachs aches and also a headache. I'm glad I am better now..

First Couple Weeks of March

March started off very well with a week off for Spring break. So my friends and I went to Mar Del Plata. Overall Mar was fun. Celebrated my bday there which was fun only problem was it rained at night had plans on going out. Also I learned how to surf which was cool and I swam in the Atlantic Ocean. The following week we went back to school. This time only having one class for three hours which was ok. The class is Political Systems which is cool. Basically learning about some things I knew already but getting a different perspective on it. In addition learning some new things as well.

Differences Between Argentina & USA

1. The people here can't drive I don't understand how did they get a driver license. They drive bumper to bumper and cut each other off with no problem.
2. Don't know how to pick up girls here. I don't know what to say I really can't explain myself  after the introduction is Spanish. This may sound stupid but I just found out that it is rude or too aggressive to ask a girl for the phone number off the first conversation. When I went to Gualeguaychu I did it and got turned down. Thinking back I could have got her but just had the wrong approach she choose me out the crowd and I dropped the ball. What you do is ask her for her Facebook and talk from there that way she can check you out and read some things about you.ie( just learned that today btw).
3. Dinner time here is around 10 or 11 pm not like 5 or 6 as it is in America. Also breakfast is normally a bowl of cereal, toast or fruit with a coffee no big breakfast ie( eggs, pancakes, grits) 
4. You don't drive here the transportation is via ( bus, train/rapid/subte, taxi, walk)
5. There is no personal space people talk close to you and when you greet another you give them a kiss by their the cheek even the same sex.
6. Can't find certain foods here peanut butter is rare 
7. No place to buy Jordans and soccer here is big not American football or basketball
8. Night life is different you don't go to the clubs till 2am and generally you don't get home till the morning like 6ish maybe even 7 
9. Alcohol here is cheaper 40 oz are common and the best way to go far as bear wise a 40 oz of Stella can be 8 pesos which is near 2 dollars
10. Merchants may try to over charge you by being American they have a stereotype that we are all rich. I had an experience when a taxi driver drove around freely as the meter was going and tried to charge me full fair still. I wasn't having it.

Last weeks of February

The last weeks of February kicked off very nice due to 4 day weekend due to federal holidays. So Sarah, Aubry and I went to Gualeguaychu for Carneval. The only problem was we went on the wrong day. The parade was Saturday and Monday and we arrived there on Sunday. A possibility would have been to stay till Monday but we had already bought out tickets back to BsAs so we just pulled an all night er and went home Monday morning. We thought since the website said mega fiesta that it was the parade as a big party. We still had fun we went to the beach and ate good food. The mega fiesta was fun as well. It was the selection of the king and the queen of the parade. Afterwards there was several tents that was playing different music to party in. The following week I went to Igauzú Falls omg.... The first day we went and saw the river that the falls flows into. Standing on the Argentina side we could see the Brazil and Paraguay sides of the falls. We went back to the hotel and I met two more amazing friends Ron and Steve we hung out much of the excursions days and had a blast. Day two we went to the Igauzú forest and the falls. I saw different animals and some exotic butterflies and birds. After that we finally saw the falls and let me tell you they are amazing. We had the opportunity to ride a speed boat up to the falls which was exhaling. It felt like I was on top of the world. Ron and I had a conversation about our journey here how I work two jobs a first shift and a third shift job plus going to school full time just to make it and he worked two jobs and went to school as well. Also how most of our friends never been out the country and we were doing something different. To quote a quote from Lil Wayne " I feel big not big in the sense of weight not gaining weight or colossal " to ellaborate it means I feel big like I made it I am on top. Which is how we felt being there. On the final day we went to the Missones Jesuítico Guaraníes which was amazing seeing how the people lived. They provided for us lunch and dinner which was good. They made the best empanadas and fried tortilla shells with sugar. I drunk cold matte for the first time which was good. Here above are a few pictures I took you can see the rest on my Facebook page.
